Transforming organic search into genuine buyer demand through a data-led, phased SEO strategy.

Driving Non-Brand Growth for a Luxury Yacht Brokerage

Selling Yachts to the World's High-Net-Worth Buyers

Dream Yacht Sales is a luxury yacht sales and charter management brand, selling and managing yachts for high-net-worth individuals across the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Its Charter Management Program runs alongside outright sales, meaning the health of the sales side of the business feeds directly into the charter side.

The client came to us straight after leaving a previous agency relationship that had felt underserved, a high retainer for what felt like a small product, with organic traffic roughly halved from its previous peak and almost entirely reliant on branded search. We've worked with Dream Yacht Sales since 27 May 2025, an engagement that is still live and has since grown in scope.

Challenges

Growing Traffic, Shrinking Relevance

Organic growth masked a deeper commercial issue. Traffic relied heavily on branded searches, even as branded demand fell by 20% to 67%, while visibility for high-intent ownership keywords remained weak.

  • Key US commercial terms averaged position 23.8, limiting visibility in the world’s largest yacht market.
  • The priority was to increase qualified, non-brand leads and support growth across both the sales and charter businesses.

Solutions – Phase 1:

Foundations

We began with a full technical SEO audit, competitor analysis and content opportunity review, focusing on high-net-worth buyers across the US, UK and Europe. This shaped three strategic priorities:

  • Commercial intent transition: Shifted focus from broad charter terms to high-intent ownership searches such as yacht sales and used catamarans for sale.
  • Technical excellence: Improved site architecture and indexed key pre-owned filter pages to capture long-tail, model-specific searches.
  • Data-led authority: Created original industry statistics pages and interactive tools to earn authoritative backlinks and strengthen topical authority.

Alongside this, we resolved technical issues including redirects and broken links, optimised key page titles and developed a long-term content strategy.

Solutions – phase 2:

Build & Optimise

This phase focused on link building, crawl budget optimisation and improving site performance, alongside research for original statistics pages. We expanded US-focused content, optimised on-page elements including headings, FAQs and internal linking, and published high-intent guides and destination pages aligned with US search demand.

We published the Yacht Industry Statistics 2026 report, generating 16 referring domains, including Forbes, while creating a trusted source designed to earn citations in AI-generated answers.

Solutions – Phase 3:

Authority & Conversion

Details: The statistics pages went live, Core Web Vitals passed, and schema recommendations were delivered. We ran CRO audits on the Ownership Program page and homepage, and launched the yacht fuel cost calculator as an interactive lead magnet.

Impact: Digital PR around the statistics and calculator assets landed a Forbes backlink (DR 94) and grew referring domains to 44 from a standing start for that toolkit alone. The Yacht Tax Deductions guide went on to rank #1 for “yacht tax break.”

What Made the Difference

01

Original Research That Earned Authority

We built original statistics pages and interactive tools, including a yacht fuel cost calculator, without relying on developer support. Together, these assets earned 44 referring domains, including Forbes, while creating trusted sources for both traditional and AI search.

02

Smarter Use of Existing Pages

Selectively indexing pre-owned filter pages allowed the site to capture long-tail, model-specific demand without creating hundreds of new pages. “Lagoon 46 for sale” moved from beyond page 10 to position five.

03

Content Built for American Buyers

US-specific resources covering yacht tax deductions and the Great Loop addressed buyer interests competitors had overlooked, becoming two of the site’s strongest-performing US pages.

The Outcome

From vanity traffic to genuine US buyer demand.

By shifting the strategy towards high-intent, non-brand visibility, Dream Yacht Sales reached more prospective yacht owners in its most commercially valuable market. The US became the site’s number-one traffic country, while rankings, authority and qualified organic enquiries all grew.
